final fantasy gil:Brimming with a will to destroy all enemies, through whatever means possible, the FFXI Dark Knights are damage dealing machines to say the least. This class is a part of the advanced jobs, so it has to be quested for after you have reached level 30. The Dark Knight Quest starts in the Bastok mines area, so if you want the job, go and get it! FFXI Dark Knight Advantages The FFXI Dark Knight's attack is his forte. They would rather carry large weapons then take up shields, so great swords and scythes are the weapons for these Knights. Black magic is a strong point of these Knights as well, they can inflict magical damage on the enemy and drain the foe's HP to replenish their own. FFXI Dark Knight Disadvantages Weak defense is a draw back for the job class. Though it doesn't hamper them much because of their agro abilities, they are at their best when there is a Paladin or a Warrior 'provoking' to keep the monster's attention diverted. Low MP means that the Dark knight is unable to use his magic too often. Though Taru Final Fantasy XI Dark Knights shouldn't have too many problems of low MP, they have the HP to worry about. FFXI Dark Knight in Parties They can also use black magic for draining enemy HP, this way they replenish their won health. However, FFXI Dark Knights are not healers. The Dark knight's role is up front, where all the action is. Don't expect them to stand and stare during a battle, they are the exemplary attackers who use both, their sword and their magic to inflict blows to the enemy HP. FFXI Dark Knights can't take blows like the Paladin or Warrior. They have to stay just below the hate soaked up by the tanks. Otherwise, the monster might just take a liking to you, as his dinner. Part-time Dark Knights They ideally combine with melee jobs, Warrior or the likes. However, if you are a Taru lookign to play to his strenght, the Black Mage would be decent enough. Not spectacular though, as it takes you away from your primary style of fighting, melee. To top ot off, the Final Fantasy XI Dark Knights use the biggest and slowest weapons in the game, casting would only make them slower. So if you are just looking to up your MP and not go all out to magic, then you'd do well to reconsider. Warrior or Thief sub jobs look to be more aggressive, and better adjusted in party play. FFXI Dark Knight Race Issue All races would get some fun out of this class, except for Tarutaru, all boast an HP of 30 or over and good stats overall for the job. However, Galka still look the strongest in any melee class. They would deal some heavy blows but their magical abilities won't help them too much. So perhaps and all round class would fare better. Don't count the Taru out of the race either. Just as Galka are low on MP, Taru are behind on the HP. Which will restrict them a bit but they will by no means be walk-overs for the enemy. As I said, it is a job for all races, just adjust the playing style a bit to suit your race. Enjoy!
