FFXI Gil :Fenrir is a wolf which from the Norse Mythology. Reputed to be the guardian of the earth, the big boss of FFXI Avatars can really dish out some hammering to its enemies that are weak against the Earth Elemental. How to summon a FFXI Fenrir avatar In Final Fantasy XI, the FFXI Summoner acquires the ability to summon Fenrir only after the Summoner defeats him in battle. Unlike other Avatars of Final Fantasy XI, the quest to face Fenrir is only available once you have beaten all other Avatars. Once you defeat an Avatar you obtain a 'whisper' which you can trade for the Avatar pact or an item of that Avatar. However, fight to Fenrir you have to have all 6 whispers. Otherwise you'd have to defeat the Avatars again to save the whisper for Fenrir. After acquiring all the whispers, trade with them for the Moon Bauble and you can then fight to Fenrir. Where to find Fenrir? Though you can get all other avatars through level 20 solo fights, the only way to fight Fenrir is to fight him as a Primary Avatar at a level 60+ fight. This adds a dimension to the Summoner's character. No newbie can show off Fenrir as his pet, you really have to earn Fenrir. Avatars are always strong against all elements except their direct weakness, so it's important to catch them in their weak days. Well combined parties may not find Fenrir too tough to beat but if your party lacked planning in then you might have quite a few retakes with Fenrir.
